HO Scale vehicles

Does anyone know of a good site to buy 40’s vehicles, particular Jordan Miniatures…? One site directed me to a Hobby shop in California and the shipping to OK. was over 9 bucks for 1 small HO truck. A little steep I thought. I ordered 2 vehicles from Woodland Scenics and the shipping was like 5.50 total. If anybody has any input or past experiences I would appreciate your help. Thanks Guys…x3fan

Well this site seems to be a good starting point

Can’t your LHS stock these for you? Jordan Vehicles are very popular, so I don’t think your HS owner would have a hard time selling them!

Bob, are the vehicles in your photos Jordan’s? They’re terrific.

I model the 1960’s, but I’m giving a lot of thought to making my layout “dual era” by swapping out mostly cars and trains, and going back further to those thrilling days of yesteryear. Since I have subway trains, I need a number of lift-off sections to access the tunnel tracks. I could easily make multiple lift-offs with cars and people from earlier times.

Check Walthers.com. They have several lines of good looking vehicles and they do care Jordan products. I know, I just looked.

All of the vehicles on my layout (except 2) are Jordan Miniatures. IMO, they are second to none. A bit time consuming to assemble, but the end results are worth it! If you decide to build one. E-mail me… I have a bunch of tips to offer (Do’s and Don’ts) I learned the hard way!

Bob…

PS
That offer also goes out to anyone else in the forum…

Bob, this would be an excellent topic to post on the forum. I am sure that many modellers would benefit from your expertise. I have never made a Jordan model, but your photos have got the juices flowing to try some out.

This is a little off the subject but I found some 1/87 diecast cars that were very good looking for only $1.67 each at Wal-Mart. They look great for that low of a price.

Gee! Where you been? [:D] We’ve beaten the Wal-Mart wonders to death on a couple of threads. They’re a heck of a bargain, being models previously released under the Schuco and Model Power brands. However, what you see is all you’ll get because the Malibus are a special deal between High Speed, Malibu International and Wal-Mart. All of the new models appearing under the Model Power banner are exclusive, meaning High Speed cannot offer them to anyone else for sale in North America.

To answer x3fan’s original question: Try Truck Stop Models. They list the entire Jordan line, as well as other lines like Greg’s Garage and Sylvan Scale Models, offer a 10% discount and reasonable shipping.

You may want to check Caboose hobbies in Denver too, not sure what their shipping is for those items but they are well stocked.
