i no this has been asked many times but i cant find the post i saw earlier. and now for my question…how wide is a 1 lane road in ho scale?
Lot depends on type of road. For city streets 3 to 4 inches, for country road 2 1/2 inches, and for one lane road 1 1/2 inches. These are VERY nominal widths as a lot depends on visual appearance - roads are easy to modify. Remember in HO, 1" represents close to 7’ and country roads run about 21’ wide which would be 3". However, selective compression to 2 1/2" gives a better appearance and allows more room for scenery and structures. Experiment a little to see what you like best and what fits best on your layout.
Good luck, Ron K.
PS - You mught be in sunny Cal. but I’m in snowy NY (yuck)
