My wife and daughter came home from a garage sale recently with a box containing an old Eldon Racer (circa 1966) slot car set. Upon further investigation, I found a set of HO Atlas 10" long tracks which snapped together. The railroad was either 5/8 or 3/4" and plastic. No power packs came for either the Eldon racer by Hawthorne or the Tyco rail set. Anyone out there know if a) these are worth trying to repair (they are to me, but how much are the power packs?) and where I can get them?? Any knowledge you have on the subject that you would be willing to share would be greatly appreciated!!
In general old Tyco has little to no value. Old Atlas track also has little value - if it has brass rails it has none. It’s not clear exactly what trains you have. Is this one of the Hawthorne Village sets? Do you have the original box it came in, if so how is it labled?

I bought an ancient Tyco C420 (Silver Streak) that I got at a train show. The engine worked for about ten minutes, and then “poof” it was now my first piece of junk. But I did get a MKT C420, in it’s box, still new, that runs like a charm. But I got rid of it. The junk engine I still have, I think I’ll just use it for something else. Advice, the track might not be good shape to run trains on, if you are going to, because over time, brass track turns bad because if not taken care. nickel-silver tracks is more durable and so is steel.
Sorry to disapppoint you guys, but this site is for REAL classic trains.

Tyco is a name that goes way back. I have a couple of HO sets, boxes included.
