HO Vehicles Wal-Mart - '53 Cadillac Eldorado

We just got back from Wal-Mart, where I found an HO vehicle I had not seen previously: “1:87 Cadillac Eldorado 1953 with Caravan”; only in red at the Wal-Mart Super Center in Shakopee MN. It is a Model Collection by Malibu International.

Lots of cars that don’t fit my era too. I saw an HO Range Rover, which I do not recall seeing previously.

**** Sorry; I forgot to mention that it is a convertible, with the top down ******

I guess I’ll start looking for those in about 2-3 months. Mine just got the 1/87 Fresh Cherries in about 2 weeks ago.

Actually the WalMart (not a supercenter) near me finally got some Malibu’s, and they had some models which I don’t remember from the original Model Power listings, namely:
Late Model Jaguar XK (both with and w/o the kinda silly trailer) - I took the Green one without the little caravan trailer (I like Jags, and this particular vehicle is reasonable for an early 21st US layout, so I would have noticed it in the original release - however, I apparently somehow missed the 1992 Jaguar XJS Cabrio - was that in the original release set?!?)
2 different late model Land Rovers - I saw 2 Land Rovers in different colors, figuring they were the same, but upon closer inspection they were 2 different models - I brought the Range Rover sport, the other was a somewhat different (black) model with a moon roof over the back seats (forgot which model).
I also saw 2 different style late model porsches (didn’t buy either).
Now, best of all the 1953 Cadillac Eldorado (Convertible?) was there at WalMart (sans trailer) as a Malibu release - and is also listed on the Model Power Mini-Exclusives Page! - so much for exclusive!
Are these guys just sort of releasing new stuff willy-nilly, under whatever brand they feel like? I fear they may do something like release, say, a 2001 Honda Civic or Toyota Camry (yeah, I know, but play along), and nobody knows anything about it till you read it on the boards:
"Oh yeah, found 30 Nissans & Subarus at Wal
Mart, brought the en

About a month ago I got the Caddy and a VW bus with trailer; also a '78 AMC Pacer in yellow and a '77 Ford Pinto Cruising Wagon - that’s the one with the porthole side window instead of fill glass.

For S scalers, I also saw a line of “Used Cars”. They are painted up like rusty junkers with mismatched doors and hoods, but look good otherwise. They had everything from a 30s Ford medium truck to a Shelby Cobra. A trip to the paint shop would fix these ones up.

OK, so apparently Malibu is licensed to offer the 1953 Cadillac, & I remember that VW Bus w/Caravan was indeed in the original release set.
The Pacer & the Pinto Cruising Wagon are definitely Fresh Cherries (1st Release set), one review grumbled a bit because the Pinto Cruising Wagon was kinda rare in the real world (possibly MotorMax chose the crusing wagon instead of the most common Hatchback Pinto was because they also released a 1975 Mercury Bobcat, which was a rebadged Pinto)

I haven’t seen the XJS, but have seen the early S type four door sedan, with and without the silly trailer.

Well, I have 12 Yellow 55’ Chevy Belairs I dont know what to do with.

me too, and a bunch in each of red, green, blue and black too…

Taxi fleet? Load for an open auto rack?[:D]

Dude, didn’t you read the Model Railroader Information Desk articles - in 1955 those Chevys are going by (enclosed) boxcar (if not truck).
And 2 door taxis - that’s just wrong…[:P]

Athern had open auto racks with 1954 built dates on them - there was an earlier thread on this forum about them - I have #'s 1485 & 1494, both UP - there is a prototype for everything!![^] As for the 2 door taxi’s - if the driver is very friendly . . . . .[:D]

Mine has those. I wish they had them in 1/87! They look really good.
