Last year was the last time I was in Hobby Lobby. I remember them selling everything for
half off. I thought they were discontinuing the train items, so I haven’t been back. Maybe
they were just trying to move some stuff(?). I’ll have to stop in and see if they still have
model railroad merchandise at the Pensacola store. Dave
I was in there about 3 days ago and bought some WS polly fiber for about $2.00, the LHS was 3.69 I believe. They still had train stuff when I was in. Peoria store that is.
Go to www.hobbylobby.com and sign up for their e-mail list. You’ll get a weekly summary of what they have on sale.
I HOPE they are not selling out of it! My local Hobby Lobby JUST NOW got the Woodland Scenics stuff in!! If you ask me, besides the plastic model kits they have, the WS stuff is the only thing they have that I would consider even remotely related to a “hobby”. Just my [2c] worth. [:p]
They have a great selection of india inks, and chalks and pastels as well as some good paint pens. I usually use HL to get they stuff my LHS won’t carry. But when I can get a bag of WS stuff at those prices I have to buy. They also had a MRC Sound unit #312 the RR sounds for 51.00, that’s about 30% off list price.
Cool. Maybe my Hobby Lobby will be getting that stuff! Cause right now they don’t have any of it. I’ll have to keep an eye out![:D]
I agree with Dr. John. But then, I was also told by one of the employees there just a few weeks ago that they have what they call one week “spontanious sales” where the sale items are chosen on the spur of the moment by the manager of that particular store. The week I was in, it was model rockets on for half price. Just my luck [V]…

They have train sets (sets only) on sale 40% or 50% off two or three times going in to Christmas. I’ve noticed that every year right after the first of the year they also have all train accessories for 50% off. Thats when I stock up on the Woodland Scenic stuff.
Normally the week after Christmas is when they have the train stuff on sale - usually 40% - 50% off. 2 years ago I bought $70 of W/S stuff; last year I bought $120 worth of W/S in two ‘buys’. Watch their sale ads in the paper, or get on their email special mailing list.

How I found out Hobby Lobby even sold train items was from the Atlas website.
Just put your zip code in the search box to find who sells Atlas products near you and Hobby Lobby came up. Actually several of them but not all in my area.
Not all Hobby Lobbys sell train stuff.
The one close to my home sells Atlas, Woodland Scenics, Model Power kits, Books on Model Railroading, train sets, and numerous odds and ends.
You could check the store now to see if they get any stock in. I’m starting to see signs of Christmas in the local stores. As for HL, they tend to have a poor selection of some items. Mostly they have a selection of train sets. If you are lucky, you may find some MP kits or built-ups.
Yes thats right Jxtrrx and jrbernier are right it is right after Christmas.
I have a Hobby Lobby near me in Cincinanti. They usually have a fair selection of sets and scenic stuff and track. But i just came across a very nice selection of O Gage cars by K Line. I bought a fewto give my grandson for Christmas. None of the was more than $20.
Hobby Lobby has a coupon for 40 percent off this week.
I think I will get some Woodland Scenic with my coupon.
Ends October 15th.
