I will be spending 10 days second week of September in Virginia Beach. I know there are a few hobby shops in the immediate area, can someone suggest the best one?
Go to the web page for the Tidewater Division of the NMRA,
http://www.nmra-mer-tidewater.org/
we have a listing of all the local hobby shops and links to the web sites for those that have them. We are also holding the Tidewater Division’s annual Train Show at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on September 19 and 20, more information on this is also on the website.

Hello If you have a way to get around check out the NS museum in Norfolk. It’s not to far from Virginia Beach. Its kinda small but still cool. http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0oGkleD_otKB9EAfgdXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTEzaHNwYXVuBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDNARjb2xvA3NrMQR2dGlkA0gxODhfMTA1/SIG=12pr5so7m/EXP=1250775043/**http%3A//www.historyfactory.com/images/pdfs/cs/[museums]norfolk.pdf and if you have more time you can go up to Richmond and see the triple cross. www.piedmontsub.com/Richmond.shtml . We drove to NC last year and on the way home we stopped and seen them. Hope this helps and have fun on your trip. Frank
For what it’s worth my two personal favorites are Dales and Davis. You might want to call ahead before you go to Dales as they are open on Saturday but are closed a few days during the week.
Davis Hobby Shop is open Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat. Hours vary.
Dales Train Station is open Wed - Sat 10 to something.
