Does anybody know what happened to Express Station Model Trains In Seattle Washington? I purchased at least 8 locos from them some years ago. Real nice people, great service and prices. Then their web site went down and I lost track of them. I came across an old add in MR last night and it jogged my memory. Anybody remember them or know what happened?
I’ve been wondering the same thing. I purchased a few engines from them and always got their ads in the mail every other month of so and then they just stopped coming. I would have to bet they went out of business. And I agree with you Jim, they were good people to work with.
I used to go there frequently when I lived in the area.
One of their key employers was really into Lionel and other tinplate, and left to start his own shop somewhere else in the area. That was in late 96 or early 97. When I last visited the shop in 97, all the Lionel was gone and they were mostly HO scale. I don’t know what has happened since then.
I looked at another MR, they had some huge add space, Diesel-mania was their slogan. Now that you mention it, they did used to mail out a nice flyer. Hopefully, someone who frequented the store in person can shed a little light on it.
If this is the place I’m thinking of up Elliot Avenue West, then it was still there in August 2005 - I know cos’ I went in and bought trains off of them!
The Express Station I used to go to and order from was in Tukwila, NOT Seattle.
I was told by an eBay seller who lives in Olympia WA that they had gone out of business, but I haven’t been there or talked to anyone else to confirm this.
