our LHS closes this week after over 30 years of great service. I am kind of at a loss. I have a nerve condition which prehibits me doing a lot of fine work. I was wondering if anyone can tell me of hobby shops with a reputable service department that does work like installing led headlights and diodes in Genesis F units and maybe intstalling KD couplers on them too. I am don’t mind shipping items for work as long as they are a dependable and fair shop. Thanks

Maine Trains in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, does excellent work of all kinds:
He does all kinds of electronic installations, including sound upgrades. He also does custom painting and detailing. Half the fun of going into the shop is checking out the engines that are being “tested” on his in-store layout.
You might want to look around for a train club locally. They may have someone in town, probably a club member, who does that sort of thing. That would be a lot faster and cheaper for you. Besides, it’a a good way to meet some new modelling friends.
Another option - some of our forum members do this sort of work, too. You might try a post like “Who can install LEDs for me?” so that they will notice it.
How about someone that would like to replace every MRC sound decoder bought by a newbie?
