Hobbyshops in Mt Rushmore, South Dakota Area?

Going to the Keystone/Rapid City/Custer/Mt Rushmore area in South Dakota for a vacation in about a week. Any recommended hobby shops out there?

Thanks in advance!

Don’t know about “recommended,” - but it’s the only model-oriented shop in the area.

Who’s Hobby House, 715 Main Street, in beautiful downtown Rapid City. Their website indicates they have an eclectic collection of trains, planes and materials (kind of a general model store.) The alternative is a Hobby Lobby - everything EXCEPT models.

Enjoy your trip. Too bad you won’t have time to chase all the ghost railroads in the area - there were a lot of them!

I’m in RCa couple times a year (I have family there) and I’ve quit going to Who’s Hobby. They have a very limited selection of model railroad equipment/supplies. There are so many thngs to do that it’s not worth the time to go there.

But dont forget to take the ride from Kestone to Hill city!!

and a good beer at fire house pub!!

Wow! Great time in SD, Rushmore area. Rushmore, Badlands, Custer Park, Spearfish Canyon and then over to Devil’s Tower in WY. AWESOME!

Back to trains. WHO’s wasn’t bad. Scored a real good deal on a set of GN Proto F7 with DCC and sound. Agree with the above, not the best selection, but the staff were all friendly, store was clean and since I also do plastic models and modeling books, not too bad.

Donovan’s in Sioux Falls was a nice find, too.

And yes, the beer at FireHouse Pub was great. As was the coffee at Alternate Fuel coffee house. Rapid City, nice downtown.
