Hobo Deer

A friend of mine forwarded this photo of a Deer that had jumped from the I-15 overpass
onto a Train
I can’t believe it didn’t break it’s legs
I bet the crew is wondering what to do now

Wild! I saw a thread on one of the forums awhile back about a deer that had been hit by a train and wound up on top of a telephone pole (pictures were included).

When I was running with NS back in the mid 90’s. We were on our way to Chicago from Ft.Wayne. We hit a deer and the neck wedged in the couplier of the engine. When we arrived in Chicago we found out what all of the hooping on the radio was about. We didnt think that the deer would still of been there! Kevin

Wow! That picture is perfect for one of those caption contests.

Could be a poster for this movie.

Bambi’s Revenge

Tired. Angry. Frustrated. Bambi leaves the forest and sets out into the City. He is on mission to find the one that killed his Mother. This time, its personal.

I wonder how they got the deer off.

Good question

But after the leap from the bridge it would be just one small step for the Deer

I once saw a deer jump a 5’ tall fence but jumping off a boxcar could be trouble.

Someone sent me some pics of this deer, I’m assuming this is in Montana??

Looks Photo-chopped to me.

That is one awkward looking deer, but I guess it could happen

Good story with even better pics to back it!

Unfortunately for the deer, it became the guest of honor for dinner in the bear exhibit at the local zoo.

The “deer on a pole” mentioned above is TRUE: http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/poledeer.asp

But I agree with another post – this one looks more than a bit suspicious to me. Is it real or is it PhotoShop?

Another deer story:

I was staying in Williams Arizona and heard over the radio that the Southwest Chief hit an elk.

A passing BNSF freight radioed to the Chief that they saw sparks flying from the pilot. The Chief stopped and found an elk wedged under the plow. The engineer was concerned the elk may have damaged the ATS shoe. I didn’t hear much else other then the Chief radioing to the dispatcher they were on their way again. Also the conductor jokingly said they should serve the elk in the diner. Never found out if the ATS shoe was damaged, but no elk dinner…the carcass was picked up by a BNSF MOW crew the next morning.
