Hoboken Shore RR 44 tonners

Hi, Up until the late 70’s a shortline railroad, the Hoboken Shore RR, served the NJ waterfront. Their roster contained 2 GE 44 tonners, #700 & #701. These actually appear in the background is some scenes of Marlon Brando’s movie “On The Waterfront”. Does anyone know what happened to these 2 locomotives after the railroad shut down? Any information anyone can provide will be appreciated.

I just Binged “Hoboken Shore Railroad, Hoboken Manufacturers Railroad” and found a lot of links but none which would explain the dispostion of the two units. Hoboken Shore was the name given to the line after 1950 but the corporate name was Hoboken Manufacturers Railroad. I remember encountering them often in the 50’s. I couldn’t find anything in my library except for a few pictures of locomotives. I don’t have anymore time to delve but you might want to Bing or Google and see where life leads you. good luck

I think 700 might still be around. Here’s a picture from 2004.
