I have this on pre-order because my wife wants to use it in her Halloween display. She’s not gonna be happy if it isn’t in soon. I know someone posted that these were being shipped - anyone know when they’re due to arrive in the stores?
The latest I heard was they are on the ship crossing the pond right now. Don’t count on them making it here for Halloween. I keep hearing my hs saying first or second week of November.
The Lionel Shipping Schedule on their website shows an Oct 07 shipping date, so it could be any time now, but that doesn’t mean it WILL arrive in OCT. When they announced the Union Pacific Fast Freight set in the catalog, I believe the original date was April 06, Hey Great, it be here in PLENTY of time for my Son-in-Law’s Birthday in July. Then the shpg date got revised to June 06, NO BIGGY, his B-Day is in July. then it became SEPT 06, #@%$&*#, now I have to shuffle gifts around, fortunately I already had his Christmas present. Then it got revised again to DEC 06, Fine just make it in time for Christmas PLEASE. Finally showed up DEC 26th, at least it was for an adult, not a child ( THAT would not have been PRETTY)

Just gonna bump this in case anyone has any news or has seen it in the stores.
They had ONE on display at the Strasburg Train Shop yesterday. I got to hold the loco at York on Friday. Nice, heavy, substantial piece.
I was told by Lionel engineering that it is bottom heavy, tracks well, and has very smooth performace at high and LOW speeds.
