Really nice is that engine diecast?
Thanks for the video.

Looks very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Nice train. Now you will hear from neasayers and whiners about the whistle not being prototypical. Yet they accept that there is no engineer or fireman figures working on the train. Go figure.
Laz, The loco is die-cast but the tender is plastic.
Yes people are already whining about the lack of authenticity of the air whislte. Ridiculous !!For the price it looks really nice and will make a great starter set for many.
Engine is die cast for sure. Tender is plastic. Mine is on order from Trainz. I heard, believe it or not, that they’re still accepting pre-orders.

Got an email today from Trainz and its due in October.
I’d like to get one, but really don’t need another CW-80 and more fast track. How long do you folks think it will be till we see set breakups?
I suppose I could sell the track and transformer after buying the set. What do you guys think?
What would a loop of Fast Track fetch these days?
Bobby
Great video - can’t wait to get mine, already preordered.
I think a loop of FT like that can be had for $25 new from some online stores.
Video is nice, wish it would have focused a little more on the Loco to see the detail.
OMG is that whistle the same from the early 60’s LIONEL!?
UK Whistles are very distinctive to me and what I heard on that video aint the whistle Im expecting.
I saw this set at my dealer yesterday…it looks GREAT! I had pre-ordered one from Trainz last Spring. Joe
This set - I ordered two - is going to make my Christmas! I’m going to get it in October when it comes out but ask my wife to wrap it up so I can open it on The Day!
Phoenix Sound Systems have a British sound thats right for the engine and its whistle. Although frankly I’m perfectly happy with the air whistle myself and might try altering it to see if I can get a higher note. The much derided Docksiders whistle is pretty close too!
A couple of years back I reviewed a fairly easy to install British sound gizmo - it produced three or four differing UK train sounds and you installed it on your layout - not the train - which was just right for my purposes.
Thanks DOUG.

Have mine on preorder, too. Ordered it late summer. I’m hoping to have it in time for “bring a train to work day” since that is the friday before our big church craft sale. If they can give the pastor a little corner I might set up a display for the weekend to keep the kids (big and little) entertained. We’ll see.
By the way, I’m assuming this train is going to be like the PE and have some expansion packs coming in future years. Perhaps they will release a trainsounds tender(like the PE in this year’s catalogue). It probably will still be a lionel sound, but that’s OK with me. Here’s to excitement in October![tup]
Didn’t pre-order one and now I’m having second thoughts. Hopefully I’ll be able to get one without waiting too long after it ships.

Trainz is still taking pre orders $229 shipped
Can’t wait for mine! Sooo excited!
Hi Guys
Chief naysayer here [swg]
The red is wrong, The whistle is wrong, Its a brake end short of a train.
So how much $$ I just have to get one hopefully the three coaches come with the set and the extra brake end needed will be available separately??
I think the movie train for the fuss pots was two brake ends and two coaches long.
As for the missing crew I am sure a UK made “O” crew painted with a purple?? uniform will do the job??, or was that Stan Shunpike the Knight bus conductor, funny the movie only mentions a driver for the train.
Must be magic[swg][(-D]
