Hold that thought James

I stated recently that I was going to become a Railroader for Union Pacific, While that is still in the Offing, one minor hitch has come up. While I graduated college this week, I need to ensure that I will be around so I can walk with my class in May. So I am stuck doing what I am doing untill then.

So I am planning to pull my layout out of mothballs and run it for the 5 months or so I have to wait before I can go on this little endeavor.
Thanks for all who responded kindly.

congradulations.take the job now and you will start building seniority now. on railroads seniority is everything. they do give you days off now and then so you can go to your graduation. i was a signal maintainer for 31 years and all i had was seniority which i could pick a job, hours, days off and work location of my choice.

Working for the UP, how cool.[8D] What will you be doing, engineer, brakeman, etc. In the yard, or on the road. You are going to give out secrets…aren’t you.[:D] Just kidding. Here’s to a long and satisfying career.
