I’ll be hanging on a ladder scraping paint off the old house this weekend, then hanging around in the front yard sipping adult beverages while the kids play on the neighbor’s waterslide… Aside from a trip to Lowe’s for paint and the beer store, I don’t plan to burn any black gold this weekend other than in the lawn mower.
If time permits, I also have a siding to extend in preparation for the ops session in two weeks…
What will you be up to?

Fixing things. Same as every other day of my life![:(]
I hear ya on the gas thing…[xx(]
Installing my new pellet stove, before the $5.00 a gallon heating oil prices hit us here in NH.
Probably cutting the grass with the hand mover! And enjoying the kids playing in the sun. No trains this weekend.
Happy Memorial Day everyone. Lest We Forget…
Since Sunday is my “main work day” I don’t have much of any other plans. Also have the family thing to do in the afternoon. But tomorrow is “work on the garden railroad day”.

With gas in NYC now around 4.15 for regular, I am staying home and watching videos including the latest offering from Dream, Plan, Build.

Youngest semi-daughter is being evicted, helping her move her stuff into storage til. O well at least we won’t have to be paying the rent for her anymore!!
I will be attending memorial day services with my wife on Monday at a nearby national cemetery.

Stayin’ close to home. We were going to go camping and a little but of cruising in the mountians, but gas has finally hit the breaking point for us. I guess I will do some yard work, but of course it is gonna cost me almost $9 just to fill the gas can for my lawnmower. Oops, I forgot about the weedeater can, that will be another $9 (seperate can for mixed gas).
I will probably get a little work done on the layout. We have to fill up our vehicles, and that is going to be a big chunk, so I really won’t have much if any to spend at the LTS.
WORKIN!!! No time for any fun this weekend. By the way what is this holiday thing everyone talks about. We pilots have to work all of those days because everyone wants to travel. A holiday for me is just another day at work.[|(][sigh]
Will be staying home wiring a newly installed turntable. And also paying thanks to all Veterans.

Mow the grass, take the dog to the vet, and then try to get the Port of Houston scene on the layout somewhat completed. Gonna make an envirotex water pour done then plenty of roadway and ballast work…chuck
Driving up to Denton, TX after work today for my cousin’s deployment party. He’s active duty in the Army, and is being shipped to Iraq.
Wife, Daughter and grand daughter drove to GA to see my daughter’s husband, who has a 56 hour pass from basic training. I have a ton of yard work to catch up on. Cut the grass, cut down and cut up 8 trees, reseed part of the yard, open the pool (not like its warm enough to use yet, todays high is supposed to be 63 deg Brrrrr!) and other assorted honey do things. But I hope to continue laying some track on the layout. Trying to get the main loop done before calling it quits for the summer.

Try to finish bench-wiring the Nonomura control panel (which is only about a month behind schedule[(-D]) while watching the last two days of the May Bassho(1), the Indy 500, the Coca-Cola 600…[:P]
(1) Midnight to 0200 local. Ozeki(Champion) Kotooshu looks like the probable winner of the Grand Sumo Tournament. Unless he drops dead, the big Bulgarian is a shoo-in, with a 2-win lead and victories over both Yokozuna(Grand Champions.)[8D]
Then, of course, there is the honeydo list…[:O]
And, finally, try to recover from fifteen straight days of post-midnight televiewing…[zzz]

I’m got roped in to working all weekend, and it’s finally supposed to be nice weather. OH well…[|(]
Small trip down the road a tad to Gettysburg and then a day at Antietam.

I was granted a much needed 7 days leave by my new commander (subject to cancellation with virtually no notice if necessary[|(]) guess i’ll stay close to home, I have several new RR books enroute no doubt that will keep me occupied. Other then that i’m sure the misses has a “honey do list” Guess i’ll keep those medical appointments I keep stalling on, do a brake job on the car and continue my conversion of the Bachman 4-4-0 to S scale, sounds like a full week.
Dave
I’ll be watching 1,250 miles of racing, (Grand Prix of Monaco, Indy 500, Coke 600) and sucking down frosty cold adult beverages.
