Well it is that time of year again, and I always enjoy asking this particular question. If you have a Christmas Tree on display in your home, does it have a train running around it? This year, I have a 1982 vintage Lionel Berkshire lettered for the Nickel Plate Road with several freight cars and a matching Nickel Plate caboose.
I am planning on this for the tree in the cafeteria. Last two years I did not do this, but I shall do so this year.
Someone had given us a Life-Like set and that is all that it is good for. But I will clean the (steel) track, and use a good transformer and engine.

Yes I just got a new Polar Express train this year. It’s a ON30 0-4-0 Bachmann Spectrum, and 3 passenger cars.
Nope.
We are building the Polar Express in HO and so far have the Loco done and most of the cars ready to be painted. They’ll be running this weekend, most of them anyway whether finished or not. Also run a home made “Santa Train” with a working Christmas tree on white flat car and a drovers caboose with santa on the platform with presents, etc.
We went DCC with a zephyr+ last year which has helped running them both since my son wanted a siding.

We have a loop of HO and 2 loops of N under our tree…The HO is basically for me, and the N is for MOH {My Other Half} who thinks N scale trains are “cute”.
Of course, I DO have some N scale so usually one N loop has my N trains on it and the other loop has MOH’s trains on it!
Works perfectly!
Isn’t it great to have an OH who is into trains as well? We never have any argument as to where to go on vacation. We pick a spot where there is a tourist line running old steam engines in fromt of restored trains!!!

Yes we have a train around the bottom of our Christmas tree. Its a Lionel “Polar Express” with a train sounds tender. The grandsons love it.
There is a photo on my updated website on the Railroading tab.
In a way, yes. My Christmas tree is six inches tall and is on the layout so technically there’s a train going around the tree.

I got this setup at a garage sale last spring for $20.00. It runs like a charm. I can’t find a place anywhere in the house to set it up where it doesn’t get in the way.[sigh] Oh well I haven’t given up yet. I guess I need a bigger house is all.[(-D]

Not this year. I wanted to put one up but my OH thought it would be too cluttered around our tiny Christmas tree. I can’t complain though as a few weeks ago I converted the second bedroom of our apartment into a train room with a 6x9 foot layout squished in there, so I’m happy. [:)]
