Homabed ?

I’m about to start my first layout, and was wondering what everyone thought of this product?

I agree with Andy. It’s a great product. I am using it on my layout and its easy to use. It come in many different radii as well as straight pieces that are bendable, as well as turnouts. I paint it after I glue it down to prevent it from absorbing moisture and it takes nails and tacks very well. If you have laid out your plan carefully, then the preshaped curves go down easily and quickly. It’s good to know that the product will be continuing as per Andy’s note, as it is not widely available.

Hi Randy,

I like Homabed a lot, and I’m using it for all the mainline tracks on my own layout. I find Homasote a great base for handlaid track, but I don’t like cutting it myself, so for me Homabed is ideal.

The Homabed line is about to change hands. The current owner e-mailed me this morning that the company has just been sold. He will be working for the next 30 days to fill his outstanding orders, and then it will be in the hands of the new owner, We will have the new address and other contact information on this Web site and in MODEL RAILROADER as soon as we can.

I think this will be good news for Homabed users, as the current owner wasn’t able to continue with this product, and the new ownership may ensure its continuity.

Best wishes,

The November MODEL RAILROADER will carry an ad for Homabed from the new owner. I’d be glad to give the contact information now but I don’t have it in my office and I don’t want to give it incorrectly. Look in our ad index under Homabed and you’ll find it.

Best wishes,

Would that be the ad index in the mag or somewhere on this site?

Thanks for your help.

Randy

There’s is an outdated site at www.homabed.com. Don’t know if the “contact us” page (sgrubb@pacbell.com or something like that) is the new or old owner, but you could start there if you can’t wait for Andy.
