Reminds me of an incident years ago on what is now the CSX Saginaw sub in Michigan. In this case it was a car hauler with several “Wynn’s Friction Proofing” vans aboard (they were painted red and yellow). Just looking at the crossing should have made the semi driver think twice - it was very high-crowned. But he got stuck and some southbound C&O Geeps nailed him. Vans all over the place…
tmccman, if you and I are talking about the same incident (and I think we are) check your library for “Railroading in the '80s” . This was the source of the St. Louis incident. If you don’t have that book then perhaps there is still another train-hits-house-with-people-inside story out there.
