HOn3 Shelf Switcher - a place for my treasure to go work

After having unearthed my Westside Model D&RGW T-12 4-6-0, which rested forgotten in its box for 35 years, I am now looking to find a place for it to go to work.

As I have very little space and even less funds, all I can do is a micro-layout, which may be expanded at a later date, once things improve.

I already have some leftover Shinohara track and 3 #4 turnouts, which I found resting next to that red box.

This is may layout idea:

Are there plans for a cassette or track going beyond the right end? The extra length of some kind is needed to make the runaround functional.

Everything else looks like a nice micro.

my thoughts, your choices

Fred W

Fred,

yup, thre will be a 2 ft. detachable cassette for staging tho the right, and maybe later, an addition line a return loop, should my negotiations with SWMBO on the issue of more real estate prove to be successful.

That’s a lot of switching. I like it!

Wolfgang

Thanks, Wolfgang!

As there are only very few things I need to buy before I get started on it, chances are pretty good that my T-12 will find a home [swg]

I have yet to find a source for a 56´ turntable - any ideas where to look?

Hi there Ulrich,

That is a very nice looking micro layout - good luck and keep the forum posted with pictures if possible!

Here’s a 56’ gallows turntable I found with a quick google search.

Peter,

that´s exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!

I updated the 2-D drawing a little, as I found the buildings to be out of proportion.

This is where I stand now:
