I live in Calgary, but nowhere near the low lying areas. Spirits are high. Stampede is going forward in a few weeks. Volunteerism is above the 88 Olympic levels. City workers, be it Police, Fire, Roads or Transit are pulling off sleepless shifts will nary a complaint. There is no reports of looting. There were a few reports of price gouging and hoarding. Only one city death do far. All in all, we are doing quite well. It seems that all the help we need will come from within. We also have pledges from provincial and federal levels of government (the Prime minister and priemer are both fellow Calgarians. Probably going to be a shortage of drywall for a while, so my Reno will be held off for the time being. Shame on those trying to make this a global warming issue. Downtown Calgary and low lying areas are on a FLOOD PLAIN. Guess what, water has been there before, long before we had a foot on the land. David B
…sigh …
Thoughts and prayers to all affected by Mother Nature. Stay safe and be well.
Don.
Amen on that, Don!
Yes, thoughts and prayers go out for all affected by natural disaster, be they, flood, tornado or wild fire. These kinds of things seem to make what we do in everyday life, meaningless by comparison.

Right, David B! I agree wholeheartedly. God bless all you Calgarians. I’ve never been to your fine city but would love to someday.
Very glad to hear it, David. Stay safe. That goes for everyone in the Calgary area.
