Greetings from The Great White North eh! Plans are to set up the tree this Saturday night. So…I was just wondering if anyone hopes to get anything GRR related this year? Or…maybe your plans are to give perhaps? Just a light hearted topic for the season! Later eh…Brian.
My plans are to be a total Scrooge to the point where everybody buys me really great stuff in order to try and give me some holiday spirit. [swg]
I don’t have any garden railways wish list. I’ve already got everything I need. Now if somebody would pre-order me the all new Iron Butterfly CD being released 2007 (with Ron Bushy and Lee Doorman and some new guys I don’t know), THAT we can talk about…
An LGB Forney would be nice but I’ve built so many engines in the last year so maybe nothun there. Maybe finding some more of them old, really old LGB ore cars, the non-tipper ones.
I’ve just been told, ‘no more’, not really sure who she’s talking to, but never mind. This was prompted by the postman knocking on the door at 8.30 this morning with a parcel suspiciously the size of a railway wagon, surprise surprise! It was!! A quite oldish Aristo Rock Island steel caboose off of e-bay for £37 including postage. The description was 2 missing windows but something rattles inside, not sure if the stack or lights work. Well, they all do. The windows are back in place and a little man sits in the cupola, all ready for action. Might change the sprung bush pickups for bearing ones but they are quite free running.
So Brian, no, I don’t think Santa is going to be squeezing a big boy down the chimney this year, but then again, who needs Santa with e-bay?
This is the time of the year that I usually aquire a locomotive or two . I asked Santa (Connie) if he (she) had a SD70 mac in silver/red BNSF colors for me or a GP9 in BN green and black . The gravel line can also use a 70 tonner in Pensy colors that I would paint over the lettering and weather to death. I have a long list . We’ll see how good I was this year .
Not 100% sure I will see anything either. It sure is fun when those parcels arrive! Last year it was a Bachmann 45 tonner. Those are an incredible price these days (about 85 bucks US )! My wife has not been doing any hinting or anything ( she never knows what to get ) . Usually it is “give me a list I can pick from.” No matter…it’s all good. I guess we’ll see Christmas morning! Later eh…Brian.
Well, I know I wont get it, but I sure would like to have one of those Accucraft 2-12 0-6-0 live steamers. Man are those awesome! well maybe someday I will get one.
UPS dropped off a box last week from an Internet dealer of POLA. Now I had asked for a “mountain Chalet” but this box was way too big to be just that. The box was real heavy! Previously the wife had observed me drooling over a Mikado in D&RGW livery. Think she might have understood???
I’m hoping for a Bachmann Annie or a Connie. The packages are under the tree already, but I can’t tell what’s what. Can anyone give me the exact dimensions of the boxes that they come in? [:D] I’m not allowed to peek, but surely you can’t get in trouble for just measuring a package, can you? [:)]
