I want to get a Allegheny in my stable someday, but I need to know if it can go with 22" radius curves or if it needs larger…??

It’ll go through an 18" radius curve and look very strange doing it. A 22" curve will work just fine, I have run mine through 22" curves pulling 40+ cars at full speed with no trouble at all. Despite what the purists might say if you really want to pull a big train use the driver with the traction tire(s) it makes the all difference between pulling about 20 cars and spinnig the drivers to a well hooked up 40+ cars with the traction tire. This is using Athearn and Roundhouse cars with the original plastic wheels and stock weights installed. The nut driver for the side rod bolt is either a 1.5mm (size 00 hobits line nutdriver by Woodland Scenics)or 2mm (size 0 Hobits line nutdriver) nut driver or wrench. Sorry I can’t remember the precise size, be careful also the nutdrivers and bolt sizing isn’t the most consistent. If and when you do get your Allegheny you are going to love it, I wouldn’t part with mine for anything.
I’ve been able to swing mine on 16" curves but it is a stretch and the overhang took out a row of outhouses and a close line. Mrs. Smith was furious!
Why people build so close to the tracks is beyond me!
