I was asked if I could put ripples for the horse’s breath in my pond from my thread “Idea for Making Ponds”

wow that is neat !
Masterful! Very nicely done, Harold! Now, can you do the drops of water falling off its muzzle? [}:)][:o)][:D]
Really cool!
How do you get the ripples in your ponds?
Trevor[:)]
The pond is only metallic mylar with gloss medium stippled on it for the main ripples. I painted gloss medium in concentric for the horse ripple.
I was just playing around with using mylar with gloss medium to represent water. There is another thread of mine “Ideas for Making Ponds” discussing that topic.
Here is the pond from further out. It is just a feasiblity mockup with the mylar from a Sweet and Low bag taped to a piece of plexiglas and gravel sprinkled around it. The blue reflection is from the backdrop.
It shows promise for making realistic looking water
Here is the mockup on the layout to show where the blue comes from:
Hope that helps

That is a fabulous effect! I hadn’t thought of using mylar for water - must try it.
