What is the proper way to wire this up?? I have a 3656 green horse car with black horse. This postwar. With correl with green and white fences. I have the big lockon used to get the car to work, but the car does not seem to wanna vibrate. I got the correl all working right with the on/off switch. But, The car does not work. I tried looking at the car, all looks good. Do I have to use track voltage to operate this?? I have the correl wired up to a Z transformer on the B post. Only sees about 10 Volts to get it to vibrate good enough. I have 3 wires total connected to the on/off switch, 1 wire to the big lockon, and ground and power to the correl. See if you know whats wrong?? Thanks.
You need to use the Lionel OTC lockon to power the car . It has two extra rails between the track rails. One of them has to engage the sliding shoe on the bottom of the car.
Good Luck,
Mark
Check the air gap on the car coil bracket. “The screw which holds the armature is located in line with the rear door and is reached by removing the car body” (Greenberg’s repair manual).
Again, good luck

I got it working. Just needed to add a lockon and wire that up to that same transformer I use for Horse Car. Just needed to use common ground wire from that lockon to the transformer. Thanks, Problem solved.
