Obviously there is a switch on the bottom. But the directions say that in conventional or tmcc mode it can be commanded off by pressing the whistle for 8 seconds. doesnt work for me.
any ideas?

I just tried and it didnt seem to do anything since the sound didn’t stop. Maybe this turns of the smoke?
According to the directions it is supposed to suspend the whole senario, smoke, fire and talk.
I tried again. this time with the train stopped (running in Legacy). Then I held the whistle control on my PW ZW for a good deal longer than eight seconds. Finally the ol’ coot said “wake me up when we get there” and it was all off.
I guess it just takes longer than the advetised eight seconds, but after about two cycles of that thing i am ready for some quiet! LOL
As far as I know, and I have an Hot Box Reefer, the commands written in the instruction manual are in error. This has been discussed on this forum and others. ERR makes a add on unit that enables the Reefer to work in TMCC.
