House Pictures

I’ve been building while the weather is still bad up in Pinetop. Here are a couple pictures of my recent completions:

This is what Pinetop looked like last week:

And this is what Gold Canyon is like today:

Wow!!! Very nice, approximately how much time do you put into one building?

Rex:

Very nice! Are those shingles of your own making or are they store bought. If you made them, may I ask how?

Great looking houses Rex. I tried your method of making shingles and it works great. Spring has sprung here in the Upstate, so time is not spent outside and building will be put off till a rainy day or next winter. I continue to cut shingles and have quite a collection started for the next building session. Jack

Really nice construction there Rex. By the way, are those two mini “DOC’s” there… In your last shot? I too, have a mini “RED” named Pepper, about 14 yrs old now, I’ll post a shot of her, a bit later…

" approximately how much time do you put into one building?"

I spend about 3-5 days on a building. It could go faster but I don’t want to burn out. I have a lot of buildings to go.

Rex

Tom,

Yes I make my own shingles. The hobby shop (The Doll House) wants $35 a bag for them. I just cross cut a cedar fence picket and split them off with a box knife and hammer. I think I posted some pictures of the process earlier…

Rex

Byron,

Yes those are mini’s. Our German Shepard of almost 14 years left us on new years eve. He and the red mini, Kasey (6 yrs), were best of friends and she was devastated as were we. That’s the only down side to having dogs. Anyway we got the new puppy shortly afterwards. Wolfie was only 5 lbs in January @ 8 weeks but is now 11 lbs and is longer than Kasey. We walk the desert trails in the morning after the wife goes off to work. It’s really beautiful this time of year.

Rex

in a word WOW.

Dave

Beautiful! Very inspiring.
