Houston Belt & Terminal

I plan to paint two Athearn MP15DC in the colors of HBT.

I’ve got two questions:

  1. The engines have been yellow with black underframe. Even similar MP15DC are on some pictures pale yellow on others a very intense yellow (like UP). What is the correct yellow if they are fresh painted?

  2. The engines have the HBT symbol at the side of the cab. Are there ready to use deacals available? I coundn’t any (Microscale and Champ) of them and plan to do them myselfe.

I was hoping to help, but I see you are too modern for me.

leighant,
may be you can be of help with another problem.
I’m searching for an industriel area in Houston I can use as the prototype.
It should be similar to my current layout that is totally fiction (there is no Pennington in Ohio).

I’m looking for small industrie area that can be served with boxcars and may be a small depot to store some more engines than required.

You might want to post your question over on the Trains Magazine forum. One of the better posters over there, edblysard, works for the HB&T. He probably won’t be of any help with model decals, but for questions about the railroad itself, he’s the man.

Just a suggestion.

It looks like the logo is nothing but black, so you could probably print your own. You could do the artwork in Inkscape. It’s free.
