I remember visiting New York about ten years ago, and while the Amtrak arrival and departure announcements were much as described, the departure announcements included the cities served and the destination, and the “final call” included the traditional “all aboard!”
What really impressed me were the MTA trains to Long Island, which apart from the interesting sounding town names, the conductors were having a competition with eachother for the longest and most distinctive call of “All Aboard”. I guess you find your fun where you can, but the announcements were clearly memorable and in a long American tradition - quite a few people were smiling, not that common in New York!
