how can i load a pic to this site?

sounds kiinda stupid but how do u do this?

not stupid, just hard. You’ll need a photohosting site like www.photobucket.com (I find easier) or www.imageshack.com Sign up, and follow their directions to upload. Then copy the [IMG] Link from there to this site.

ok here goes i found this loco cheap any ideas on manufacturer and type?

Not that it’s that big of a deal, but if you copy and paste the IMG Code under your picture to your post, your pics will actually appear IN your post instead of just a link.

Mark.

There are four boxes of codes under your photos to post a image or photo into the forums you must use the “IMG CODE” its the last code under the photo you want to post. Any other code makes a link to the photo that open in aother web page.

… Is there an echo in here ??? [;)]

Judging by the “pancake” motor, it could be an old Bachmann or old Life Like (toy train set quality). I could be wrong but those are my guesses.

I would say Tyco.

Train set quality.

It looks like an old, old, old Tyco. The wiring is not the original at all. The wiring burned up in most of these types of engines because the motor drew more amperage than the gauge of wire the manufacturers used could safely handle, especially if the motor and gears were not properly lubricated.

the chsis part is plastic a really flexible plastic, from what i have researched it seems to be a gp 38, it needs a lot of tlc and overhauling & body work, and the engine has two speeds stand still and rocket so i guess i got a lot of work to get this loco going good. might as well get started

yippie i did it now i dont feel so stupid, thanks for all the possible input

Looks like an old Rivarossi pancake motor, so it’s probably an old AHM model. BTW the fuel tank or whole chassis is mounted backwards.

Looks like a cross-breed of some kind. The body is definitely a late 60’s / early 70’s Tyco …

That chassis is a whole 'nother story. It appears to have take extensive Dremel work on the body and chassis in an attempt to make it fit. As for not having ANY markings on the bottom of the tank, it is obviously a cheaper knock-off of a name brand (you can see where the original name was milled off in the die). This was commonly done once a regular production was completed or the die was beginning to wear - names and logos were milled off creating a “no-name” brand toy train at a fraction of the cost … even lower grade materials were used as can be attested to by the rubbery plastic. Just an attempt to squeeze just a few more dollars out of a wearing die.

My initial thought was possibly an old PMI or Pemco, or even Lima die, by I can’t cross reference those trucks exactly.
