How can I tell an 1120 motor from others?

I recently purchased a pair of 1120 engines (for the magnatraction), and am ready to begin restorations. One for each of my girls!

I have the Greenberg repair manual, and it looks like one of the motor assemblies is from a 1050. (Ridges on the bottom of the assembly)

We have a show comming up next week, in Michigan and I am planning to locate another 1120 motor.

Is there an easy way to verify an 1120 motor? These Scout motors seem similar from the outside.

Thank you,

Kurt

Hello Kurt! An 1120 Motor is smooth on the bottom with Brass colored pickup rollers & a 1050 Motor has ridges on the bottom with sintered rollers & this is the difference between the two.(other than the reverse lever on the 1120) Take Care.

The 1110 and the 1120 motors look similar, but the 1120 has magnetraction, and the 1110 does not. These seem to look similar on the outside, but I want the Magnetraction.

Kurt- Just take a screwdriver or use a piece of Track at a Trainshow to determine if a motor has Magne-Traction. If a motor has Magne-Traction the Track or Screwdriver will be attracted to the Drivewheels. Take Care.
