A man suffered non-life threatening injuries one morning after being hit by a train said Saskatoon police.
Around 2 a.m., a train hit a 29 year old man near an intersection on the west side of Saskatoon. The man was waling on and along the tracks in the same direction as the train was. The train whistle was blown in an attempt to issue a warning.
A witness saw the train hit the man, sending him in the air. The man immediately got up and proceeded to walk to a nearby street where police found him in an intoxicated state. According to police, he did not seem to realize what had hit him. He did, however indicated he had pain in several parts of his body.
MD Ambulance arrived and transported the victim to hospital.
The train remained at the scene until approximately 3:30 a.m., when Canadian Pacific supervisors completed their investigation.
Not so dumb, really, and I unfortunately know from my own youthful indiscretions. Twice, at least one time too many, I drove 10 miles, an another time 50, not realizing where I was. Once I had gone too far, and the other was on the route to work rather than the route to home.
If I had crashed the car, I would not have known where I was; driving on autopilot, sort of. And of course, I gave up partying many years ago.
So, I can believe a person, dead drunk but ambulatory, could get hurt without knowing how it came about.
