How did this go down the rails? (Busted Spine Car)

I found this on a line of cars stored on a shortline spur in Bowersville, Georgia. There were some really busted up wood chip hoppers, and I’ll have to get pics of them up later. There were also three 40 plus year old boxcars and a bunch of other TTX cars with “Home Shop for Repair” stickers.

But this was the fun one. I just put url’s for the other pictures because I didn’t want to compress them any more:

Stay 20 feet away?

The Slashed-Circle over the “20 ft” means that TTX car is not to be used for 20-ft long containers.

That “platform” on the right end is interesting. It appears to be just a small cart that the end of the TTX car is being supported by. Really TINY wheels under it. I wonder what speed it is restricted to?

That cart is typically used behind speeders and other MoW equipment…I imagine it is quite slow…I almost wonder if they moved it in propped up on a flat and then put it on the cart once it arrived or if it did the whole journey like that.

With difficulty. Espicially after the wheels came off!

…Looks like that train might have had some terrible slack action.

Or maybe got coupled at slightly higher than the recommended speed?

That is probley what is left from the wreck that happened in the last year in alabama on the NS where a train was clearing up to let a intermodel train by on tc territory. everything said that the train was in the clear and the other train was flying when they saw the rear of the other train not in the clear and now the sale of scrap metal begins.
