how do I install a miniatronics flasher unit

Hi.

I just signed up to the site. look foward to getting deep involved in the forums and to get my layout out there.

My question is this.

I purchased the NJ international (operating)signal crossing. I didn’t realize it takes seperate flasher unit and motor for the gates. I purchased a Miniatronics flasher unit, and the directions are very unclear.

The Signal has Two power wires w/resistors and one ground for each signal. The Flaser has Two red,black and green wires. they say red- output to lamp, black -output to lamp,and green-power input.

has anyone used these products that might have better information. I could not get the lamps to work properly

I am not sure about the Minitronics flasher, but it probably is not designed to automatically operate a crossing signal when a train approaches. You may want to look at Circutron. They have a number of units that will detect the train, operate the signal flashers, and run a bell.

Unfortunately, it looks like Circutron has not paid their internet bill, and their site address does not work. Look for their ad in MR or RMC, and get their catalog.

Another one is Dalee Elecrronics, but I am not familiar with their product line.
