How do I post pics?

How do I post pics? I have the pics downloaded. Once there downloaded, I can show you my layout. Thanks in advance.[?]

Howdy! To post photos here, you simply put [ img ] before the url and [ /img] after the url. I have added spaces to the [ img ] and [ /img ] to show you. Don’t use the spaces, and your pic will show on the forum. For instance:

[ img ]http://home.rochester.rr.com/howmus/TrainLayout/Mountain38a.jpg[ /img ]

will show up on the post as:

When I post a pic, like, [ img ]
IMG_0029.JPG [ /img ], all it show up as is, .

What should I do?

Have you uploaded the files to a website somewhere? You need to have a page somewhere with the photos on it to be able to show them here. In my case I have a free site at RoadRunner that comes with my internet service. I upload the documents to that site, and then put reference to that url here using HTML (the [ img ] thing). There are some good sites that are free. Do a search here and several threads should come up that will direct you to some sites to post on. Or, just wait a bit and someone else will (I’m sure) give that info. Good luck!

The [img] [/i mg] tags are vB code and not HTML.

You can go to www.photobucket.com and open a free account. After you upload the pictures, open the picture you want, Right click on the picture and copy the URL (The http://photobucket.com line you see there.) Then come back to the forum and open the reply window and right click again and select paste. Then insert the [im g] at the beginning of the address and [/im g] at the end. No spaces. Then hit “Preview” to see if it worked.

Here is an example I made for another forum. Fotki is where I have my pictures hosted, just substitute the PhotoBucket address or your own web hosting service.

Even the Bold and underlined text is vB code. I use a ‘b’ inside the brackets before the word I want to bold and a /b in the brackets after the word.

Here’s my BNSF GP50. Behind it is a UP SD40-2.

Alright! You’re up and running!!! [:D]

You’re doing good! Post a wide angle shot please. I can see you have a home enviornment space too. I seem to have depth of field issues with my pics but I can clearly see your rocky back area.
