This is a silly question I know, but I’ve never seen a MTH track up close before. I looked at catalog photos of RealTrax with a Lighted Lockon connected to a track, but I’m confused at exactly how you attach it. Can you connect anyplace on the track or do you need a special terminal track?
Lighted lockon will attach to any track section. You will see a “scribed” place on each side of a track section that can be removed and the lighted lockon slides into the contacts on the under side [turn track section over to see]. I use a lot of lighted lockons. Gives you a visual of power on the track while giving good even voltage around the track. Also gives me a visual of power to sidings [along with lighted bumpers].
Hey thanks for responding. I guess that answers that mystery.
I also like the idea of having a visual indication of power on. The other day I was having a little trouble with the loco momentary stopping and starting. After about 10 min of scratching my head, I discovered my 2 year old grandson moving the throttle back and forth when I wasn’t looking. It would have saved me a lot of time to have a light come on. Of course the grandson was having a great time.
I didn’t know you insulated your sidings. Are you using the TMCC to turn them on or off or just a plain old on/off switch.
