Please help what details parts do i use??
Dude, it edpends on the prototype. Find some prototype pics and start a list of detail parts you need. Some good manufacturers would be Details West, Detail Associates, and I think that Train Station Products had some stuff for switchers as well. Then get yourself a pin vise and a nice selection of bits (a couple of each size because you will break some). CA, such as Handi Bond, is great for affixing metal detail parts to plasic. Good luck.[:)]

ok thanks dude!
Before you start, buy a cary shell from bowser (Through the stewart website) its a metal shell and will turn that SW into a brick that will pull anything in your yards.
how much do the cary shells run?
Around $30.
About the detailing, you can look up pictures of the prototypes at websites like:
www.railpictures.net
or
www.northeast.railfan.net
Then you can buy the proper detail parts from Details West, Detail Associates and Overland Models. Then you could also get brass handrail wire from Bowser.[:)][:)][:)]
cool thanks
06archerd,Hold oneā¦That Cary shell needs a lot of work including making the hand rails and roof.Plus you need the Athearn SW1500 drive.Your best bet is the Athearn SW1500 and detail parts from Details West and Detail Associates.
ic i think i will stick with atheran and detail parts
