Does anyone know how to disable the E-Unit on a Marx motor?
Got some 30’s/40’s trains that will be used for a display and only want the train to go one way.
System being used powers layout for 7 minutes then turns off.

You cannot turn a marx eunit off/on so you would have to rewire to the motor and by pass the reverse unit.
I shoved a piece of pencil eraser or something like that up into the reverse unit on many of mine to keep it from cycling. It works fine. If it is jammed tight enough then it can’t cycle.
You need to wire an SPST switch in like with the power supply to the Marx e-unit.
Unsolder and tape off the “hot” lead to the reversing unit.
The unit will still “flop” direction when held up-side down, so be sure to check it before applying full track power. Once unsoldered and in the forward position, it will stay there until manually turned over.
I use Marx steam engines on the “U-Run-Um’ Railroad” for over 30 yrs during the Fall Festival to raise money for the school. Never fails to draw a big $$$ crowd!
