how do you get the top off a HO Russian Decapod?

I bought a Bachmann Spectrum Russian Decapod the other day and I want to get the boiler off the chassis to paint, weather and add detail to ackward areas.

I have looked at the MR review but although it shows a picture of the loco with the boiler off it doesn’t tell you how to do it. I have examined the exploded diagram that came with the kit.

I took off the front truck and took out the screw underneath it. Then I unscrewed the drawbar and the screw just ahead of the drawbar. When I tried to lift the superstructure off it didn’t budge. I looked under the chassis cover plate but there are no screws there.

What am I missing?

Thanks for your help
Neil

Actually it is OK. I got it off in after more poking.

For anyone who is interested it was bcause some paint and glue had got between the boiler saddle and the boiler. A wiggle and pull broke it loose and the rear followed with more pulling.

You need to disconnect the air pipe ot the air hose on the pilot and there are a couple of other wires that connect the bridge behind the boiler saddle and the cab that are a pest to put back in when you put it all together again.
