OK…I’ve read peoples posts on how to download my photos onto my posts, and I STILL can’t figure it out. So, can someone in short, simple English tell me how to do it? I’ve created an account on Flickr!, so the photos are there. Please help! Oh, yeh…thanks.
-
Create account on web hosting site (done!)
-
Upload photos to there (done?)
-
Start posting your message.
-
Click on the little tree icon on the bottom button bar under Message
-
Where it says “image URL” type or paste in the full and exact web address of the image.
You can find this by going to flickr with firefox, right click on the image, left click on “copy image location”. For Internet Exploder I believe it’s “copy image shortcut”.
Left Click in the box from step 5. Paste the URL with (ctrl-v) key.
-
Left click the “insert image” button. Finish message then post.
-
Done.
Good luck!
Get a free account on a photo host. I have one on Webshots, so this example will be exactly as you would do it on Webshots.
Upload your pictures.
While viewing your photo, scroll down to the box that says “Link to this picture”
Open another browser window or tab and come here, and start typing your message. When you want to insert the picture, click the Insert Image icon Looks to me like a tree sort of thing, two icons to the left of the smiley face to insert smileys. A box should open for the information. If it does not, you need to tell your popup blocker to not block them for this site
Click back to your Webshots page, and udner the mentioned “Link to this picture” section there is a box that says “direct link to the image”. Click on this box and it should highlight the ENTIRE CONTENTS of that box. If not, click and highlight the whole thing. You need EVERYTHING in the box, can;t miss a character ont he end or at the beginning or it won’t work. With everything highlighted, right-click and select COPY, or press Control-C, or click Edit,Copy from the browser menu. Any one of those three will work.
Click back to the Insert/Edit Image box. The top line says “Image URL” Click in that box, and right-click and select Paste, or press Control-V. The information you copied from Webshots should show up - EXACTLY as it is shown on the Webshots page. Don’t touch anything else! Click the Insert button and it should take you back to your message entry. Finish up with that and click Post.
Super easy technical way: Where you want to insert a picture, type [ i m g ] (without the spaces), then paste the url for the picture, then type [ / i m g ] (again without the spaces). Done. For a link to a web page, you can type [ u r l ] (no spaces), type the URL for the web site, then type [ / u r l [ (no spaces). Done. Can you see why I never use the silly popup b
Create a Photobucket account.(they’re free) Upload your pictures to it per their instructions. Right click/copy the “IMG” code they provide under all your photos. Paste that code into your post on this forum. Done.

Yes, Photobucket seems to be the easiest site to host photos for posting on forums. I’ve been using it for several years. They make it super easy to get the links to post - scoll over the photo you want to post, and a drop down list will appear.
Point your cursor to the one that has [ IMG ] and click on it, you’ll see “Copied” appear.
Get out of Photobucket, go to your favorite forum and post your message. Where you want the image to appear, right click on your mouse and choose “Paste”.
That will place the Photobucket IMG info into your message. To verify everything worked, choose “Preview”.
So it’s just a matter of two clicks to have the image posted, once you’ve uploaded it to Photobucket.
I use the Photobucket method myself, about the only one I really understand how to do.

See ya.

Once you have a pic (or find a pic) online you want to post, type [ then the letters i, m and g then ]. Then copy and paste the web address of the pic. Then put in [ followed by /, i, m, g and then ]. That should do it. You can right click on a pic online and choose “properties” and that will give you the web address.
The address for this pic is http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/bn/bn99642amr.jpg.

Normally you can wrap your code in tags to show formatting in a message. Unfortnately, that doesn’t work on forum specific tags. You can however use escaped characters like[ and ]. See http://www.sigall.co.il/escape.html for a list.
Here’s a less cryptic example of an image
I, like you, have a flickr account and it took me a while to figure out how to do this. First, go to the picture that you want to post(preferably in a different tab or window then the forums). Then, hit the “all sizes” button (above the picture next to the magnifying glass. Go back to the forums and click the “insert/edit image” button( with the tree.) Open the flickr window and scroll down until you see the HTML and the URL for the picture. I prefer to use the URL- option #2. copy the URL and paste it into the URL in the image box for the forums. Hit insert, and the picture should show up in your post.
It sounds confusing, but its easy to do.
Hope this helps!
