How do you remove Bachamnn decals without ruining the paint? Thanks for any tips!
Some of the indoor guys have had good luck with erasers.
Be careful it`s not easy and you can muck it up
Oh come on you guys I have the climax and I also am not into Purdee & Curtin operations so how do we get rid of this free publicity? All suggestions within reasonable bounds of decency welcome.
What are you talking about? [%-)]
In the new “50 Tips” booklet there is a suggestion for using lacquer thinner on a q-tip to remove lettering from locos or rolling stock. It is recommended that you test a bit of it on the underside of the model first to make sure it won’t cause damage to the surface.
Thanks Ray!
Hi Matt:
There is a product made for this task, called “Easy Lift Off” made by “Polly S” . I get mine from the local train shop.
As Ray posted, lacquer thinner, or paint remover, etc, also works.
You must be carefull or you will damage some of the paint. I have been able to remove a lot of stuff over the years, but very few times have I got the decals/lettering off without needing to touch up the paint.
As posted before, test a spot on the bottom with what you are using and see what happens first.
Good luck: Jeff [8D]
I don’t know if WD40 would damage paint but I’ve removed a 3-year persistent tub sticker with the stuff
