How does crap like this happen???

Now, yall ain’t gonna believe this…

I do suppose that is what you get for driving a lawnmower drunk on the tracks.

Austin.

How does it happen?

“Yo Bob, Hold my beer while I…”

“The basic problem with trying to design foolproof systems is that God keeps making bigger fools!”

He’s probably the same fool who robbed the Texas National Bank last week using his own deposit slip to write a note which he gave to the bank teller saying it was a Holdup.

Definitely a top contender for this month’s Darwin Award!

And here’s another one:

TUCSON (AP) – A man who was apparently sleeping on train tracks in south Tucson Friday night was killed when the train struck him, police said.

The man was lying on the tracks when he was spotted by the train’s engineer about 8:15 p.m., Sgt. Mark Robinson said. The engineer blew the train’s horn, and the man got up and tried to “wave down the train” but it couldn’t stop in time.

The man died at a Tucson hospital about an hour after he was hit. His name was not released.

There have been other items in the newspapers here in Arizona indicating that illegal border crossers from Mexico are being told to sleep between the rails to avoid rattlesnakes.

Morning all, I do not know how it is there but around here there are several people that have lost there DL due to reoccuring DWI, and use there riding mower for personal transpertation. Maybe, I do not know. Mike

It is simple

  1. Take Lawn mower

  2. Fuel driver (at least a 6 pack)

  3. Drive laswn mower on tracks

  4. Add train

  5. SPLAT!!

See it is that simple.

Maybe we has trying to WEED the road bed?

Around here, we usually wait until winter for these guys to come out. All they need is a snowmobile and directions on how to get to the nearest body of barely frozen water.

Very simple… “alcohol did play a role in the accident.”

“Hey Y’all, c’mere an’ watch theeis…”

TOM, correction…God does not make fools, He gives us life and then “we” make fools of our freedoms by getting drunk and driving our riding lawn mowers on RR tracks at 1 in the morning. “We” do all these things that you read about in the newspapers, or see on TV.

My uncle is a police officer.
Some guy commited suicide. The crew of train was there from 12(Midnight) to 12 (noon.)

I think somebody who recomends sleeping on RR tracks to avoid rattlesnakes needs some work on their risk assesment skills.

HAHA I like it

After a six pack or two almost anyone thinks they’re Superman. Needless to say they often feel the need to put their newfound superness to the test and go to the first dangerous thing they find. It just so happened this guy found train tracks and fortunately for the rest of society, trains.

I’ve always felt that stupidy should be painful. Maybe death is the cure for stupidity. (I know, that’s a pretty callous statement! Don’t yell at me for it!)

Darrell, quiet…for now

Another example of drinking and driving not being a good match, regardless of what you drive!

All too often true Darrell, … but it is Mother Natures(efficient) way of weeding out the ‘chaff from the corn’… or is it Gods way, who knows any more, its one of those fantasy figure’s way.

How does it happen you ask?

He was excercising his Gods(?) given civil rights to ride his lawn mower on private and restricted property. If he had been stopped by security, hand cuffed and his mower keys taken away(along with his beer) then no doubt there would have been uproar, a civil rights litigation against the railroad “How dare they try and keep us safe!!” Seems to me, there needs to be a line drawn as to where your rights end and sensibility and public safety begins… oh… wait there is… ‘rules/laws’ pity some people dont respect or understand them, but then they are the ones who get hit by trains while riding a lawn mower down the tracks.

But !!!..

On another viewpoint… it seems like the statement

is begging the question… ‘how could the railroad allow this to happen??’ … seems to me whenever they try to tighten security and prevent people from getting close to those big dangerous trains (not to mention safeguarding their passengers and general public from ‘potential’ terrorist threats) they get slammed, which way do you want it?.. barbed wire and snipers every quarter mile to keep the idiots away and protect them from their own stupidity(including no railfanning) or open access to protect your rights to railfan (lack lustre security and an open invite to ‘The Threat’), eitherway someone aint gonna be happy… “you cant please all of the people all of the time…”

I hope the train crew were OK, he got what was coming

And another:

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

A Westmoreland County man was in critical condition yesterday at Mercy Hospital after losing both legs and an arm and suffering other injuries when he was struck Sunday night by a train in Jeannette.

Jeannette police did not release the man’s name, saying they were not sure all of his relatives had been located. But they said the man was from their community and was hurt at 9:30 p.m. Sunday when he was struck by a Norfolk Southern train on tracks near Clay Avenue Extension.

Sgt. Jose Gonzalez said the man apparently was lying on the tracks as the eastbound train approached.

The train’s engineer and conductor told police the train was traveling at about 30 mph when they saw something lying on the tracks about 150 yards ahead. They applied the brakes but were unable to stop the 48-car train before it hit the man, Sgt. Gonzalez said.

When police and emergency workers arrived, they initially believed the seriously injured man was dead and were startled when he sat up and spoke, Sgt. Gonzalez said.

Although not stated as such, my guess is that alcohol also played a part in this one. . .
