Thsnks for all the responses. I noticed several comments on problems with the first run BLI Hudsons. What type of problems did it have and how do you tell the difference tetween a first run and other runs

This won’t answer your question about the early problems with th Hudson’s, but I have a BLI heavy mike and a Hudson. The Mike has been running, almost constantly, on the layout for over a year without one problem. The Hudson was a Christmas present from my wife. I love it. Both pull well and the sound is awesome. I am still trying to figure out how to lay my hands on a BLI Niagara.
I have a couple of Spectrum locos with Soundtraxx chips in them and even one Bachmann Niagara with an MRC chip. They work and sound quite good, but I don’t think you can go wrong with a BLI steamer.
