How long will this deal at trainworld last????????

21611 PROTO 2000 PA POWERED ASSORTED ROADS

BLOWOUT 29.99

i doubt i could get one until late Feb. or early March- will the deal last? I want a Santa Fe one.

well its been like that for maybe a year now

are they just trying to “scare” people into buying them- like it’s a special 1 time sale? they retail for $100 at wathers

I’ve seen some of their sale items listed for a year. Getting the road name you want for that price is a long shot. (I never liked the nose on that one you posted)

good model it has some ic chip that lets it hold energy for a few seconds
and mix that with the mrc momentum

oh ya I crashed but just a little fast on the track too
great passenger linner not the best pullers in the world
but ok

B

the prototype had a maximum speed of 117m.p.h. with the 58:25 gear ratio

Same deal caught my eye the other week. In fact I bought a pair, as I’ve been looking for some decent PAs but didn’t have a lot of disposable ca***o spend on them. Seems like a downright steal.

I wanted SF too, but if they had those they wouldn’t be selling them for $29 I guess.

My plan is to strip and redecorate–a bit of a project, admittedly, but I’m up for the challenge.

Haven’t actually run them yet so can’t vouch for performance, but from what I hear the P2Ks are excellent runners.

if i had to paint them they’d probobly be decorated for the grand canyon railway (i know GCRy. uses FPA-4’s but this would be close enough)

Seems like they have been that price for over a year… I bought several some time in there. BUT I can guarantee you will not get a Santa Fe.
At this moment from information on the web site your choices are:
#21621 Southern Pacific
#21629 Wabash
#21660 Erie
#21676 Erie Lackawanna
#21768 Lehigh Valley

How about the Santa Fe E6A for $59.99?

who the heck has that kind of money?[:D] i was only considering the PA because it was $29.99 but i will get the walthers trainline FA-1/FB-1 Santa Fe sometime- but i only wanted the PA beacause it was a good deal.

For 30 bucks, is this a very good pulling locomotive? Has any one installed a decoder in one? Easy? Hard?

I bought one and installed a decoder in it–it was fairly easy to do. See http://www.tcsdcc.com/decoderpics/lle7-t1.html. Be careful–some P2K PAs had a different motor and can pull 3 amps at stall current, which will burn up just about any HO decoder in a hurry.

Very nice locomotive, but loooong. Looks a little funny on 24" curves. I think dummy B units are available, too.

Gary

all the proto locos that you find out have the six pin plug
dcc is ti* er easy
and I had a hard time pullin even 2 passenger cars and I have 2
pa’s they just look so darn good
get 1

if you wanted to paint it santa fe (like i do) here are the decals http://www.discounttrainsonline.com/dto/item460-87188.html you wouldn’t need the large red letters but these would work for a PA.

then i’ll start laughing when it’s on my 18" curves.

is that all they pull or do you have 500% grades? they can’t be that bad- but the middle axle on each truck is unpowered, just like the real ones.

is the SP gray w/ red nose or red w/ orange stripe?

All of these sales are based upon how many they have in stock when they blow them out. The actual units being sold usually leave you only a small choice of road names and are sometimes undecorated.

Having purchased from Trainworld many times, the sooner you call the better chance you have on getting what you want, but when they are gone, it is over.

These are the old production from the Proto series and the new prices on Proto’s will be much higher so if you can get one or two, you will be saving a lot of money.

well i’d like SP otherwise i’d get whatever they have and paint it myself.

don’t know but looks like a good engine.

How long will that particular TW sale last? Usually until they run out of 'em. I probably bought my Proto 2000 S1 from TW about a year and a half ago…and the STILL have them on BLOWOUT for $29.99!

Dingoix, BEFORE you actuially order, call or e-mail TW to make sure they actually have the specific road name that you want in stock.
