I have seen a yellow UP 2002, the blue Olympic 2002, and now this ex. SP now being UP 2002.
Actually, that unit belongs to Trona. 2002 is exUP 8708, exxSP 8505.

Just curious about something. Do you ever go out railfanning live and in person, or just virtual railfanning? Don’t misunderstand me…I’m not trying to be demeaning or anything, it’s just that you always have something posted that you garnered someplace on the net.
To me, a lot of the fun of being a railfan is going out, and experiencing the railroads. Every once in awhile I’ll even set down the camera just so I can watch a train go by without looking at it through a tiny viewfinder. Standing on a bridge over the tracks is the best. You hear a horn in the distance, and before you know it tehre’s a headlight on the horizon. You see the train coming, hear the deep throb of the diesels as they approach, and when the train passes under you, you feel the temperature rise 20 or more degrees from the rush of the exhaust, you smell the diesel exhaust, and watch the train go by, watching the different cars from a different than normal perspective. In time the train is gone, leaving only the sound of its horn far in the distance. But you know the process will inevitably repeat, and it will be a savory experience for the senses all over again.
Train cams and such are kind of neat, but they’ll never touch that kind of experience, at least for me.

2002 was a GP38-2, and was renumbered to 502 in 2000.
