So how many feet of track do you have?[?][?] I have roughly 250 feet of track on two routes of the SP and the SF[swg].
Is that mainline or including sidings and spurs. Currently, I have about 75’ total, but have the roadbed in place and am starting to lay another 75’. Eventually I will have about 200+’ until I can move the shop and get more space.

I honestly don’t know! It’s a lot! I probably have more extra track in boxes than I do on the layout, mainly brass track, especially curved. I buy a lot of used stuff, so I end up with all the track that comes with it that I have no use for.

Anything more than what I do have is too much to clean correctly.
I still have more to go and just want to run trains now, but I am
improving on operations and will be satisfied with the end
result, and then I can begin the scenery I want to do.
The total is at least 4 boxes (of HO flextrack), which is 1200 feet, then you’d have to add for turnouts etc.
I do know that my double track (continuous running) main line is 156 feet (2.6 scale miles) – which I wanted to know, in order to calculate scale speeds.

4 boxes is 1200 feet?
Let me think. 1 peice is about 3 feet. Most boxes have 5 pieces. So thats 15 feet per box. Times 4 boxes is 60 feet. How many pices of track were in your box? To get 1200 there would have to be 400 3 foot sections per box. Is it possible to buy boxes that big? Where? PLease tell me. I can only find the smaller boxes

Its only 100 x 3’ per box.

I think I have about 15 feet of track on the layout itself–more than that in my track box, of course–so I didn’t check any boxes, there not being a “none of the above” box…
some were around 60 feet of track. But that is it as I have no more room. But if I count all that extra track in the boxes… well who knows.

Mainline 1000’ Total for the whole layout is 2700’ and still climbing. This is in HO.
