How many new TRAINS under the tree this XMAS Morn?

Gee, I wonder how many new trains there are for kids under the tree this morning to ge them started in the hobby?

Gee, I wonder how many new trains are under the tree for the experienced modeler-whether a relative newbie or 50 year veteran?

I will let you know what we got later…have to wait for MOH {My Other HAlf} to wake up!!!

Only trains was a early Christmas gift from my son.Two Athearn Fantasy CR GP60Ms everything else was non-rail…

Psst! Wanna free box of sugar free chocolate candy?

Warning Taste terrible.[xx(][tdn]

No trains for me but I did get a $50 to a hobby store of my choosing!!

Yesterday, from my boss the hobby shop owner, I got an Intermountain ES44AC with Tsunami sound in CP livery.

Santa brought me an NCE Power-Pro Radio system. The wife and kids gave me an Intermountain CN cylindrical hopper and an Athearn BNSF 5-pack of bethgon coalporters.

It’s a great Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! [:)]

None

I have too many now except for a 2-8-8-4 and a 2-6-6-6

I did all right.

A couple “Imagine That” kits to see of I like them and want to build a city scene. One is N scale to experment with forced perspective. They will give me something to build while we winter in AZ.

Santa and my wife gave me some kind of long kitchen tongs.

I immediately commented-- “Look, for once they are long enough to hold what I am painting at just the right angle, without getting spray on my hand!”

Good morning:

My haul from Santa and My Other Half {MOH}:

Locos: DCC OnBoard Chessie GP 40 {I have wanted for a long time}; and a DCC OnBoard D&H GP38-2 {MOH and mine intials are “D” and “H” so we have begun collecting “D&H” stuff- which is nto easy as not a popular fallen flag…

RRCars: C&O and B&O BOx cars {B&O and C&O and CHessie and CSX are my nromal runs}; and A B&O Gondola; and a D&H Boxcar and D&H COvered hopper. I am sure there are mroe D&H stuff in my futer {if we can find it.}

So 2 locos and 5 Cars, good enough for me!

MOH {who is into trains also- N scale}- got:

Loco- Kato GG1 {wanted desparately since March and I bought it way back then before they were out}

RRCars: A wanted Santa Fe Overton set, and open air tourist passenger car {both thought to be “key-yute” [Cute]}; several freight cars…including-you guessed it- some D&H!!!, flats, tanker and such; and several {about 8} Pennsy passenger cars to haul behind the GG1! {the GG1 did also see freight service}- so about 25 RR cas in all; and a signal light; and a dozen winter trees for the under-the-table-top-tree-Snowy-christmas-scene-layout with both HO loop and N scale loop that MOH wants to creat-we are working on a new board for the layout now.Next year will be better.

Quite a haul for BOTH of us! from each other and santa claus.

We still have to deliver {tomorrow} a train station kit; a back-of-the-pickup-truck vegetable seller with pickup and seller and helper figures; and a group of train service crew people; and a group of passengers in waiting people for uor train nut friend {he’s just starting out-newbie}.

Merry Christmas!

No locos, but a lot of track and a new box car. Other stuff too.

Merry Christmas

No train stuff, but did get a new hobby knife set.

No new trains for the kids ( I have all girls!) but Santa left me a couple of new Westerfield kits [yeah]

I’m very happy with a particular item from my wife. A PRR Baldwin Centipede. Although I doubt I will ever have a layout which will handle it, it will still be a welcome addition to my collection. Seventy years old and still feeling like a kid at Christmas…

Tom

Santa (my adoring wife) brought me a Walthers Cornerstone Modern Roundhouse kit to go with my Diamond Scale TT, which is about 90% done. Now, I’ll need to complete both, as well as that yard.

Merry Christmas, everyone!!

I got one rail-roading thing, a Athearn Genesis MP15AC with Tsunami DCC/Sound.

No trains here but my son got a bunch of wooden trains and track.

John

NO one in my family has a clue where even to find any trains in my area. sigh I do however and last year I set my son up with his first rail road. He is a little young, but I thought he would be OK with a full body locomotive and a couple of BB kits. Well he did great with them for a few months, then he got the idea to crash his trains into hot wheel cars and other toys. This year I have allowed him to play with the X-mas train so maybe for his B-day in Feb he will get a few new cars or a Thomas Engine like James to go with his Thomas.

Massey

Got a display case for my 1/87 vehicles and a gift certificate to the hobby shop.

Massey, even though My Other Half {MOH} is into trains {Nscale though and I am HO, though I do have some Nscale stuff to run}. That said, MOH is clueless sometimes on what to give me. I solved the problem a few years ago by emailing a direct link to what I wanted so there was no misunderstanding aobut what model I wanted, where to get the best price {as I had already shopped around}, and WHAT really caught my fancy and needs. The direct email links has a variety so MOH can pick and choose amongst them that will fit into our “xmas budget”, but I still get what I want.[wow]

Since I can be clueless as well, MOH does the same for me.[yeah]

This year we had all our trains stuff ordered BEFORE Thanks Giving and received well early enough for xmas without all the hassles of cyber monday or other. We did most of our train shopping/oredering online. THere was also little disappointement that they “sold out” jsut before xmas, and gauranteed they would be delivered in plentyof time.[swg]

We also went to the wholesaletrains.com brick and Mortar store {Lantz’s hobby shop-we live close enough} whereby I pulled items off the shelf and so did MOH so the other would see what we found on the shelves to pull from that the other wanted. Then we disappeared while each checked out,{with stuff in bag and out the door I had to sign the CC slip as it all goes on my CC}. Then I bought {on my CC card} for my other half too and we left. WOrks great that way.[:^)]

The best is the email direct link to the item{s} you want so there will be no disappointment on xmas morning! They can order directly online and get exactly what you want! [8-|]

I got a $100 gift certificate at Caboose Hobbies. Gonna use it to get the two new Walthers Super Cheif plated cars Sleeper and Baggage. I was there the other day and they had a crap load of them, even though they were supposedly sold out on preorders.
