How many people here run Z scale ?

I want to run Z scale ,but 0 people in my area run it.

So if i need info/help i could come here if i know people here have Z scale

I plan to buy Micro trains brand stuff .

I don’t but I think a discussion about why and what benefits you perceive from z scale would be helpful.

The funniest benefit is people stareing in disbelief at how well the stuff runs.I run both MTL and AZL locos (GP38-2) and they all run great.I have two layouts one uses MTL roadbed track and the other uses Rokuhan track.

I highly reccomend the Rokuhan track as the are constantly adding new pieces where MTL is stuck in a rut.The Rokuhan turnouts have the switch motors built in and they are power routing.

Catt, that’s good info for me! I’ll be looking into rokuhan track now, I bought some MTL.

Dose Z have a Little Joe and a Plymouth switcher yet? Until they do Z isn’t a “real” gauge.

This started as a joke, but I swear those two show up in every other gauge that even pretends to be active.

Please note : I was planning a N scale layout for my bedroom.

I saw Z scale ! I could get more trains running on a door layout than N scale.

One Negative for Z is not enough buildings yet. AnyRail has that track base , so I will play around with some layouts .

I have seen some Z scale running and was very impressed. The big boy is amazing.

At my age (68) and eye sight and having so much invested in HO it does not make sense for me. Please keep us posted on what you build, it should be great.

It looks like I am staying with Nscale for now .

There is very little in buildings at this point.

Nice engine & freight selections so far ! Nscale & Zscale prices are around the same prices .

I agree with David. I did run Maerklin Z for a while, however, my weakening eyesight (and not wanting it to get worse faster) brought me to HO scale. Also, the Maerklin Z items are not as readily available as HO items and in addition they are very expensive.
