Whats the most engines you guys have in a lash up? How many powered and non-powered? What about how many locos have you seen lashed up on the real railroads? Reason I ask is about 730 this a.m. a NS rolled through greenville, NC with 7 locos up front and a long (lost count) string of nothing but 8,000 gallon tankers labeled “molten sulfer”, this is one of the longest trains ive seen in a while.
You should see what comes across Cajon Pass out here sometimes. Engines in front the middle and bringing up the rear.
I used to lash up 3 engines & my command caboose in TMCC before. Not sure how many can be run together, but I learned a neat thing from The Chief, that you can program 2 engines with the same ID # .
Do you know about how many cars those 7 engines were pulling ? They may just have been taking extra engines back to a repair facility, for scheduled maintainance. Also, the RRs usually figure about 45 cars per engine, when making up trains.

Now that would be something to see Doug. We don’t get that in the flat coastal plain of NC.
I thought the same thing to John, maybe taking some back for repair, but all seven were running and pulling, smoke billowing from each one, as far as the length of the train I would have lost count, but well over 100 cars.
