How to access the Subscriber Only content

Hello,

New to model railroading, and just purchased a subscription to Model Railroader. Paid for it with a credit card through the Kalmbach site. I have received the confirmation from Kalmbach publishing. But there were no instructions on how to access the subscriber only content. If I try to access any subscriber content, all I see is a link to start a subscription.

Subscriber only content is available as you navigate around the site.

But first go to “update your account” (in the green block on the right). When you sign in there it will show you which magazines, if any, you are subscribed to. You need MR to view the MR stuff. If you’re not listed as subscribed you may need to wait until your account is updated. I have no idea how long this takes.

I’m a subscriber to MMR, and I’ve never been able to actvate the videos on the subscribe content. It ays "Welcome so and so, but the videos won’t play.

Your computer has to have video player software installed – if you use a PeeCee with Windows you can download the required software from Microsoft.

Another problem may be the settings in your anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-this-and-that software you’re using.

I believe that you have to have your “Tracking Cookies” on (or is it off?. I can’t remember) to access MRR stuff. I see all kinds of them listed every time I get a Virus Scan Report. They are apparently harmless.

Welcome to the forums.

Do you have your subscriber number (subscription number) off the magazine. Have no problem since entering that other than things that were computer related.

Haven’t received an issue yet. I guess I thought they would give you the info on how to access the subscriber content when they confirmed the subscription.

Give Kalmbach a call on their ‘800’ number Monday. If you subscription has been processed, they can activate it immediately for you - No need to wait for that first issue to arrive.

I’ve had my subscripion for many years. I don’t have any trouble watching U-Tube videos, or any other videos on the net. Just MR ones.

Can you get other parts of the SO’s to work? ie: can you view track plans?
