Hi folks - my Lionel Trainmaster Big Boy UP 4-8-8-4 just arrived, and is great. But it has no volume. I just read in Coil Couplers of America review - see http://www.coilcouplers.com/hirail/hirail.shtml - that his was the same. I want it to roar! Is there a fix??? Thanks … in advance! [:)]
Someone (I appologize, I forgot the name of the poster) on the OGR Forum addressed this. I would search there for the thread. I believe that he removed the tender shell and found that there were several thick speaker gaskets, each with a slot or hole in it. He plugged the holes-I think by covering them with tape-and gained full volume.
Please look for the thread, I am afraid that I am misquoting the person who authored it and do not wi***o lead you astray.

Ok, tried it and it works fine! I wonder if it needs those three washers … will try with only one unless otherwise advised…
